Welcome to Realistic Gardening, a blog dedicated to teaching others how to simplify their gardening practices and help the environment in the process. There are millions of gardening websites out there but most only focus on things like generating the largest yields and exterminating every single creature that dares to poke its head in the garden. That’s not us. Yes, we feature articles about growing fruit and vegetables but our main focus is showing you how to garden with wildlife and the earth in mind. This is important because we have already poisoned and drained the earth so much that we are now experiencing devastating consequences worldwide in the form of climate change and natural disasters. Something has to change on a mass level and now has to be a time of healing and regeneration; part of that is learning how to work with the land not against it. So feel free to browse around, browse articles about eco-friendly pest control and find tips and ideas on how to start your native plant garden, and find gardening apps that are specialized in this way of gardening, and maybe even find some nature-inspired art here and there. Our aim is not to overwhelm you but to show you what is possible when you step out of the traditional gardening box.
